Ok the weather this week has been incredible so fa Ok the weather this week has been incredible so far! Literally the perfect fall vibes 🍂☀️ Taking some time during my day to get fresh air and movement in while this lasts! Always a welcome break from hunching over my computer screen lol Consider this a friendly reminder, from one entrepreneur to another, to turn on that email auto-reply and get outside. Actually you’re not looking too well. You should probably take a sick day…..😉
AI has always been a difficult subject for me. So AI has always been a difficult subject for me. So much about it is in direct opposition to my morals, but I also feel an obligation to educate others about it because so many people are using it, and likely not in a responsible way. For a long time I struggled with speaking on the topic. But after thinking about the subject and doing a deep dive into my role, I realized that I could still speak about it without compromising my own morals in the process. There are so many “experts” and presenters out there that are strongly pushing AI and thinly veiled threats that not using it will cause you to fall behind. To counteract that, I thought it would be helpful to present the information and remind people that they should make their own decision about if or how they adopt it. When I speak about AI, there’s no “this technology will change your life” pitches or “not adopting this will sink your business” comments. Whether it’s a custom workshop for an organization or a general introduction for small business owners, I always take the stance of presenting the facts and telling those who are participating that they need to decide if it’s something they feel comfortable exploring. If the answer is yes, then it’s on them to do so responsibly. I give people the information (good AND bad) as well as the space to determine how they feel about the technology, so they can walk away with perspective and a greater understanding of how AI impacts their brains and the planet they call home. The fact is, AI is here and businesses are using it. I can either step away entirely or I can opt to have a conversation with them about what it is, why it’s dangerous and the ways they may see it showing up in their work and personal lives. I can, at the very least, force people to stop and really think about AI before they dive in blindly. For me, this is an important conversation that I will assign myself to facilitate, so those who are curious, can learn about both sides of the argument, and not get distracted by the mess and influenced by the peer pressure to adopt it “or else”. . . . #yqgsmallbusiness #aiforwork #yqg #windsorontario #aiforbusiness

The struggle is always so real when you come back The struggle is always so real when you come back home after vacation. 😩 Adjusting to a regular work routine again isn’t always easy and unpacking is literally never fun.
